Cigar Event: Big Fat Cigar Train in Alamosa and Fort Garland, CO

Update; It appears this company is out of business! Sorry.

Big Fat Cigar Train? Yes! The Rio Grande Scenic Railroad presents the Big Fat Cigar Train on September 22nd, 2018. You’ll enjoy cigars, spirits, beer, and a four-course meal while riding on a historic train through the Colorado Mountains. This is something you’ve never seen before and a definite bucket-list item.

This is the first event for the Rio Grande Scenic Railroad and here are the details.

Location

There are two pickup locations for the train: Alamosa and Fort Garland, CO. Where the hell is Alamosa and Fort Garland, CO? Alamosa and Fort Garland is in the South Eastern part of Colorado about 3 1/2 hours from Pueblo. Yes, it is remote but imagine the train ride through the splendid Colorado mountains.

Schedule

Saturday, September 22nd, 2018: The train leaves Alamosa at 9:30 am and Fort Garland at 10:15. The train then travels over La Veta Pass and then returns to Fort Garland and Alamosa. The return time is not listed so your guess is as good as mine.

Here’s what the organizers have to say about the Big Fat Cigar Train:
