StogieTV Releases Padron Cigar Documentary

In February 2018, Jose Orlando Padron published his autobiography entitled, “Memorable Moments in My Life.” You can check out our review of the book HERE. The book is absolutely beautiful and a great read.

If you don’t have time to read the book, StogieTV.com has the next best thing for you. StogieTV recently released a 20 minute video documentary about the history of Padron, entitled “The Padron Story”. The Padron Cigar documentary includes interviews with Jose Orlando Padron before his passing and also with his son, Jorge Padron. The documentary also includes a tour of Padron’s headquarters in Little Havana, Miami, FL.

The highlight of the Padron Cigar documentary are the comments from Jose Orlando Padron and also the film showing the locations where Padron Cigar headquarters was bombed three times in 1978. Prior to the bombings, Jose Orlando Padron met with Fidel Castro to gain the release of 3,600 political prisoners. An ill-timed photo shows Jose Orlando Padron handing a cigar to Castro. The anti-Castro community in the United States took offense to Jose Orlando Padron’s action resulting in the bombings.

c.gar loves all things cigar-related. He typically falls in love with cigars that are discontinued shortly thereafter. His first cigar was a Swisher Sweet with a wood tip. Sadly, these are still in production.
