Cigar Page-A Somewhat New Entry in the Online Cigar World

Cigar Page is a relatively new online cigar retailer with great prices and a pedigreed past. Smokey Butts and I have been frequenting the site and have saved a ton of money on their daily specials. Cigar Page’s pitch is a familiar one if you are familiar with Woot. Cigar Page has one deal per day. OK, the truth is that it is generally multiple deals from the same cigar manufacturer, but you get the point. The prices are usually lower than you can find elsewhere for the day until the deal is sold out.

Cigar Page’s pedigreed past comes from Cigars International. The website is one of many e-commerce sites run by BrandShopper, LP, a company founded by the founders of Cigars International. BrandShopper was founded in 2011 and the Cigar Page website was registered in 2013. Cigars International was sold to Swedish Match in 2007.

Additionally, Cigar Page has a points program called Cigar Perks that you can use to get a discount on your purchases. Here’s how it works according to their site, “At Cigar Page we’ve created a one of a kind opportunity called Cigar Perks to earn points that can be used just like real dollars for future purchases exclusively at CigarPage.com. Like Yogi said ‘and that’s just as good as money.’ Yes, we realize you also get cash back from one of the 20 credit cards in your wallet so this is a bonus! For us, it brings a smile to our face when you return to our site to earn and use your points. Please note, however, that you can’t redeem your points for cash like using your Discover card at the grocery store. And we don’t have one of those fancy ‘points’ books that allows you to use your 150,000 points for a trip to Bermuda with your wife. Points don’t expire but there’s no redeemable cash value. Hopefully that sounds as great to you as it does to us. When you create an account at Cigar Page, you are automatically enrolled in our FREE Cigar Perks program.  And when you place orders using your Cigar Page account, you will earn points with every purchase that can be used for future purchases.  We have set some baseline values for earning and redeeming points. You earn 1 point for every $1.00 dollar you spend and you can redeem 1 point for a $0.01 discount on a future order.  We reserve the right to offer limited time offers and promotions that may alter the earn rate or redemption value of each point.  And finally, please note that you cannot earn points on orders where points are redeemed.”

As you can see by the quote above, one of the great features of Cigar Page is their writing style. Every page is full of witty banter. They make reading about the same ole cigars fun again.

Cigar Page’s prices can be so low that at least one cigar manufacturer, Rocky Patel, lists Cigar Page as an unauthorized retailer. Here’s what Rocky has to say, “Please be advised that the website retailers listed below are not authorized to carry Rocky Patel cigars or accessories. We cannot confirm the authenticity, quality or freshness of their products bearing our name. For a full list of authorized retailers, please visit our Authorized Retailer’s Page at http://www.rockypatel.com/retailers/.” We’re not sure what to think about Rocky’s decision but the deals are so good, we have a feeling it makes Rocky and other retailers nervous.

Sign up for Cigar Page’s daily email and you’ll start saving on your cigar purchases.

c.gar loves all things cigar-related. He typically falls in love with cigars that are discontinued shortly thereafter. His first cigar was a Swisher Sweet with a wood tip. Sadly, these are still in production.
