Schedule of Events
Friday, March 16th, 2018:
- Big Smoke Miami 2018. That’s it. No pre-event golf or cigar dinner the night before. Just a night of glorious cigar smoking!
Event Details
This is a one-night event and tickets include premium cigars, spirits, beer, and a “delicious light buffet”. Bacardi is providing premium drinks and cocktails. The dress code is casual. In my experience, you’ll see people in all states of dress and distress. From tuxes to blue jeans. Wear what you want!
Here’s what Cigar Aficionado has to say about the event: ” Grab your sunglasses, pack your bags and get ready to escape the cold: Cigar Aficionado’s Big Smoke is heading back to sunny Miami Beach. For the second straight year, a grand evening of premium cigars, spirits and camaraderie is set to take place at the iconic Fontainebleau Hotel, one of the finest resorts on Miami Beach. The event will take place on Friday, March 16 from 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. The Big Smoke Miami takes place in the city where much of the premium cigar industry calls its home, so we expect another strong showing of cigar industry stars. Big Smoke customers will have the chance to fill their gift bags with more than 25 35 premium cigars, many personally handed out by the star cigarmakers who blend them, and smoke cigars throughout the evening. There will be a roster of fine spirits, too, as well as a light buffet of food.”

Event Strategy
Smokey and I have been a number of Big Smoke events over the years and have learned a few things that might make your experience more enjoyable. When the doors open, the masses take their cigar coupon book and head off to get their free cigars wandering from booth to booth. The lines are long and your time goes fast. By the time you finish getting your cigars, the food and alcohol are mostly gone. I recommend you head over to the food and drink first. Then, go to the cigar booth with the shortest line and grab a cigar. Smoke the cigar on the patio. Then, after the crowd dies down a bit, pick up your cigars.
