Cigar Event: Cigar Aficionado’s Big Smoke Las Vegas 2016

Cigar Aficionado magazine recently announced their 21st Annual Big Smoke Las Vegas. The event takes place November 11th through 13th, 2016. This is THE premier cigar event in the United States and if you have not been to Big Smoke Las Vegas, you are missing out on an amazing event. There are two separate events–Big Smoke Evenings and Big Smoke Seminars.

Big Smoke Las Vegas Evenings

Big Smoke Evenings take place on Friday, November 11th and Saturday, November 12th, from 6:30-9:30 pm. Ticket prices are $325 per ticket and include more than 25 premium cigars. The ticket price also includes premium liquor, wines, beer, and other fine spirits, as well as a buffet dinner. For the first time, Cigar Aficionado is offering VIP access at 5:30 pm for an extra $375 per ticket. The event takes place at The Mirage, 3400 Las Vegas Boulevard South, Las Vegas, NV.

Smokey Butts and I have been to this event three times in the past and you need a good strategy to ensure you don’t miss out on food and drinks. When you enter the event, skip the cigars. They’ll be there all night long. First, have one person in your group find stake out a table. These go quickly. Next, head straight to the food buffet and have a great dinner before the food is gone. After dinner, enjoy fine spirits peppered throughout the event floor. Finally, get your cigars. If you use a different strategy, you’ll likely miss out on the food and alcohol.

Big Smoke Las Vegas Seminars

Big Smoke Seminars take place on Saturday, November 12th, and Sunday, November 13th. If you attend Big Smoke Las Vegas, you should definitely attend the Big Smoke Seminars. Seminars take place in the morning on both days starting at 9:30 am. Trust me, you’ll love this event. Seminars on the first day include: Top Three Legal Cigars of 2016 Tasting, Cigar Lover’s Guide to Cuba, Anatomy of a Cigar, Honduran Cigars, and Lunch with Oliva Cigar Company. Seminars on the second day include a Cigar Lover’s Breakfast, Roll Your Own Cigar, and Scotch Tasting. Tickets to the Big Smoke Seminars are $625 and include one of the Big Smoke Evenings. VIP tickets are $675.

The Seminars are fantastic. Imagine starting your morning with a My Father Le Bijouu 1922, CAO Flathead V660 Carb, or an Arturo Fuente Don Carlos while the manufacturer discusses the cigar. Throw in a breakfast and lunch specifically tailored to your cigar, and you have the makings of a great memory.
