Representative Castor Files Bill Allowing Cigar Donations to the Military

As promised, in an interview with the Tampa Bay Times on August 29th, 2016, Representative Kathy Castor, a Democrat representing Tampa, FL, filed a new bill that allows cigar donations to U.S. military members.

We reported Representative Castor’s commitment in a post on September 7th, 2016, and you can read this post HERE.

On September 8th, 2016, Representative Castor introduced House Resolution 5955, Restore Charitable Contributions of Premium Cigars to the Troops Act of 2016, to the House of Representative’s Energy and Commerce Committee.

If passed, the Bill will allow the cigar industry to donate cigars to a member of the Armed Forces or any nonprofit organization the primary purpose of which is to provide support for members of the Armed Forces or veterans.

The chance of this Bill being passed into law is slim but way to go Representative Castor!

The full text of the Bill can be found HERE.

c.gar loves all things cigar-related. He typically falls in love with cigars that are discontinued shortly thereafter. His first cigar was a Swisher Sweet with a wood tip. Sadly, these are still in production.
